Lovely libraries!

Visiting libraries and schools in the Vale of Glamorgan as part of World Book Day is becoming something of a habit for me. And one I hope to continue! This year my visits were hosted by the welcoming staff of Cowbridge and Llantwit Major libraries. It was a pleasure to see how comfortable the children from years 5 and 6 of the local schools were among the shelves of books, a sure sign that they are regular library users themselves. I took along my Hometown History books on Cardiff and the Welsh valleys to show them and their knowledge of local (and national) history was impressive. What the children of Y Bont Faen and Llantwit Major Primary don't know about the Tudors isn't worth talking about!

Librarian Deborah Morgan who organised the Llantwit Major event said later:

A huge thank you to Sue Barrow for her excellent author visit to Llantwit Major Library. Sue brought history alive with her tales of life in the Welsh valleys and the children were totally engrossed.’
